This is the place where I am supposed to give some third person biography of a band that only consists of one person. Me. That seems weird to me, so I won't do what everyone else does. Here are some basic facts. If you are at all interested then read my blog, although, I don't update it all that much. I am more of an artist than a web designer, so until I can afford one, I am doing this all myself. Deal. Anyway, here are the little known facts about me and the "band" Buzzhead Republic:

*My friends all call me Rooster. It is a nickname I can't get rid of, so I don't.

*I have a band name because some day I want to be able to "hire" a band, and by "hire" I mean "for free".

*I have composed multiple soundtracks for a theater group called Theatre 'd Art.

*Most of the tracks from my album, "Reaver Doves", and "Zerthscape Vol. I-III" were composed for Nate Cornick, author of the Zerth comic, even though there is no film for the music to be put to yet. He just wrote the scripts around the music.

*I tried to sell my car for charity, but no one would buy it. So I gave it to a friend who needed a car, but apparently, not that badly. He gave it back. Now I am trying to trade it for a drumset. I was unable to trade it, or even sell it to a junk yard, so I donated it to Goodwill. My new car (an '06 Saturn) got totaled when I hit a deer. Insurance paid for everything, but now I am carless, and unable to afford a new one.

*I am in the middle of writing a novel.

*I am in the middle of producing my 7th full length album. I think that number might be higher now.

*I am in the middle of remastering and remixing my older albums.

*I am producing remixes for a band called No Longer Micah.

*I currently have about 150 songs, give or take a few, attributed to my name. They come in the form of 6 LPs, 3 EPs, 1 single, and 4 soundtracks. There are several other releases not included because they are out of print and involve other bands. Oh, and there are 3 other songs under my name, Matthew Shaffer, floating around that I recorded about 13 years ago. All of my albums have a street name associated with them.

*I have worked in a studio to produce a remix for Nine Inch Nails, and some guy on Peter Gabriel's record label.

*I am almost a speed reader and I have near photographic memory.

*I drink excessive amounts of coffee. I enjoy the rare cigar but mostly when I'm writing. I sip tea once in awhile. I light a lot of candles at night, and like low or yellow tinted lighting. I have a massive record collection that covers all genres and spans over a hundred years. I have a small collection of cyberpunk literature.

*I have made only a few hundred dollars over the past 14 years of my career. I have lost well over a hundred thousand dollars from expenses, and lost wages while touring.

*I still think I'm living the good life! It gets better every day!
